Supporting a Premium Beauty Brand with Product Sampling
Case Studies
A leading premium beauty brand, dedicated to providing every individual with the confidence to be their best, partnered with HBI Design Plus after previously working with our other site, HBI Laleham, for their full-size retail products.
The Challenge
Following the success of their retail line, the brand wanted to expand into carded sampling, which was an increasingly popular trend since Covid-19, with consumers seeking low-cost ways to try products before committing to a full-size purchase (Mintel).
During the development stage, the client raised a concern:
The glue used to attach sachets to the cards was too strong, making it difficult for customers to remove the samples easily.
This risked creating a negative user experience and potentially impacting the success of the sampling campaign.
The Solution
HBI Design Plus collaborated closely with the client to resolve the issue while maintaining quality and efficiency.
Sourcing Improvement: We identified and tested a lower-tack glue to make sachet removal easier for customers.
Quality Assurance: Our teams ran multiple trials and quality checks to ensure the new adhesive performed effectively without compromising product integrity.
Customer-Centric Approach: The solution kept the end user in mind, reinforcing our “can-do” attitude and commitment to solving challenges quickly.
The Results
Successfully manufactured 1.5 million sachets for the brand.
Supported the launch of:
14 shades of tinted moisturiser
11 new skincare variants
Delivered a smooth product sampling experience that encouraged trial and boosted customer confidence in the brand.
Strengthened a trusted partnership, following earlier success with the brand’s full-size retail products.
