HBI EuroCaps founded in 1973

1998

HBI acquired EuroCaps, a company based in Tredegar, Wales, UK, renowned for its expertise in softgel production. Over the years, EuroCaps has built on its core technology and diversified its capabilities by adding gummy manufacturing to its portfolio.

HBI Thompson & Capper founded 1798

1999

Building on its growth strategy, HBI expanded further by adding Thompson & Capper. Based in Runcorn, UK, Thompson & Capper has been in business since 1798 and is well-known for specializing in the production of tablets, capsules, powders, and effervescent tablets.

HBI Laleham Alton founded 1970

2004

HBI entered the beauty market with the acquisition of Laleham Health & Beauty, specialists in skin care, hair care, body care, and nutritional liquids and pharmaceutical products, based in Alton, UK.

HBI Laleham Kirkham founded 1976

2014

A 110,000 sq. ft. manufacturing plant in Kirkham was acquired, further enhancing the Laleham Health & Beauty business and expanding beauty manufacturing capabilities.

HBI Design Plus founded 2000

2015

Another beauty business, Design Plus, was acquired, specializing in sachet packing. This addition further diversified HBI’s capabilities and became a sub-division of the Laleham Health & Beauty business.

HBI Ion Labs founded 1983

2018/19

A major milestone in HBI’s global growth strategy. HBI entered the U.S. market for the first time with the acquisition of Ion Labs in Largo, Florida. This was a huge moment for the company, expanding its nutritional capabilities and allowing it to offer a wider range of products to U.S. customers.

HBI Amerilab Technologies founded 1995

2020

Expansion in the U.S. continued with the acquisition of Amerilab Technologies in Minneapolis, specialists in powders and effervescent products. This further strengthened HBI’s diverse capabilities and added more R&D expertise to its growing portfolio.

HBI Bittner founded 1992

2025

Marking a significant step in its global journey, HBI made its first move into central Europe with the acquisition of HBI Bittner, extending its presence into the European market and reinforcing its international footprint.
