HBI Laleham Safety Team Wins Robin Hood Award for Sharing AI Safety Innovation
Our People
The HBI Laleham Safety Team has been recognised with this year’s Robin Hood Award, celebrating their role in spreading a brilliant safety innovation across the group.
The winning project involved introducing AI-powered camera systems across the forklift truck (FLT) fleet, which detect when a person is close to a moving vehicle. The system automatically slows or stops the FLT, helping to prevent accidental collisions and keeping our people safer than ever.
The idea first took root at the Kirkham site, before being “shamelessly stolen” and put into action at Laleham's Alton site and at HBI Design Plus in Morecambe. By taking a smart idea from one site and making it work across multiple locations, the team has shown the true spirit of the Robin Hood Award, sharing knowledge and best practice for the benefit of the entire HBI group.
This achievement not only demonstrates the power of collaboration but also underlines our commitment to safety first in everything we do.
Congratulations to the Laleham Safety Team for their success, and to everyone across the business who played a part in bringing this life-saving idea to more sites.
